Integrity

Our reputation at Transportation as a company of unyielding integrity is built on a foundation of commitment. Each person at Transportation makes a personal commitment to follow our Code of Conduct. The "Spirit & Letter" is our integrity policy, and each GE employee, regardless of business or industry, signs a pledge to adhere to it when they join the company.

Quality

Our commitment to Quality is evident in our practices. Transportation is an ISO-9001 certified company and practices Six Sigma quality principles as the "way to do business." Six Sigma is a customer-focused, data driven philosophy to process control and improvement that provides a statistically based method of reducing defect causes. We apply this disciplined approach to everything we do. In fact, today, we are even working with our customers and suppliers to achieve the highest levels of quality possible.

Innovation

Since its inception, Transportation has been at the forefront of many of transportation's most storied accomplishments. The most recent is the Evolution® Locomotive. Created to be the most technologically advanced, most fuel efficient, most environmentally friendly diesel locomotive to ever put power to the rails.

Environment

At Transportation, "Safety always comes first", and we're committed to achieving safety and health excellence. Combined safety efforts have led to Transportation's facilities to receive OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Certification. By achieving certification, Transportation marks an employee safety and health milestone and becomes one of the top ten largest worksites in the country to achieve OSHA VPP Star status. The Headquarters plant in Erie is the largest manufacturing site in Pennsylvania to achieve VPP certification. Internationally, our sites have achieved equivalent safety designations. Our facilities in Monterrey, Saltillo and San Luis Potosi, Mexico, received "Autogestion." Safety certification, and the Contagem site in South America earned the GE Global Star certification.

We demonstrate our commitment to safe working conditions by establishing safe work methods and practices at all times. We expect full cooperation from everyone involved towards achieving and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Everyone (including management, hourly employees and contractors) must be vocal, visible and continual in support of an accident-free workplace.
