GE and TÜLOMSAŞ Showcase First PowerHaul Locomotive Manufactured in Turkey

GE introduced with its partner, TÜLOMSAŞ at Innotrans 2012 in Berlin, the first GE PowerHaul Locomotive to be manufactured in Turkey. GE’s strategic relationship with TÜLOMSAŞ, a regional leader in locomotives manufacturing and maintenance, is for producing locomotives under GE license for the European, Middle East and North African markets. GE is providing leading technology and components while TÜLOMSAŞ provides manufacturing and assembly in Turkey for PowerHaul, GE’s most technologically advanced, fuel efficient and low emissions diesel electric freight locomotive to date.

GE Unveils European PowerHaul Locomotive at InnoTrans 2012

GE unveiled its PowerHaul Series PH37ACai Locomotive at InnoTrans 2012 in Berlin. Hosted every two years, InnoTrans is the world’s largest rail exhibition and attracts more than 100,000 attendees and approximately 2,500 exhibitors worldwide. The PH37ACai model is featured at Track G4/10, where attendees can tour and learn more about how GE Transportation’s leading technology and innovative rail and signaling solutions address the world’s toughest rail challenges.

The PowerHaul PH37ACai is continental Europe’s newest cross-border locomotive and is GE Transportation’s most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and low-emissions diesel-electric locomotive to date. It meets the latest TSI standards and the demanding interoperability requirements for Europe and other regions that adopt such standards.

GE has provided freight and passenger locomotives, signaling and communications systems and rail services to help solve the world’s toughest rail challenges. In 2012, it expanded its rail Optimization Solutions business by acquiring RMI, a leading provider of transportation management software solutions for railroads, rail shippers, railcar leasing companies and intermodal services in North America.

Completed in January 2012, this acquisition highlights GE Transportation’s commitment to the global rail industry with a broadened ability to provide secure, reliable and cost-effective Software as a Service (SaaS) and licensed solutions that support daily, mission-critical rail operations.
