Barcelona and Tokyo were abuzz this week with displays of advanced green technology. GE Energy Storage did not miss out – the business’s sales team was busy spreading Durathon Battery technology around the world. Energy Storage’s presence at some of the world’s largest trade shows reemphasizes the business’s global reach and broad range of applications.
The team wrapped up their booth at the Mobile World Congress’s Green Technology Pavilion just as Battery Japan was beginning in Tokyo. Battery Japan, part of World Smart Energy Week, marks the launch of Durathon Battery technology in Japan. Japan, meet the Durathon Battery!
GE Energy Storage is in Barcelona this week for GSMA’s Mobile World Congress. You might be wondering what an energy storage business is doing at the same trade show as companies like Samsung and Nokia. The shiny, advanced products that many companies launch at the Mobile World Congress require reliable networks in order to actually use for communication. In many rural and developing areas of the world, an unreliable grid and extreme temperatures may affect the performance of cell towers.
That’s where GE Energy Storage and Durathon Batteries come to the rescue. Our telecom product enables fuel savings and reliable power availability for cell tower operators. We power the cell towers that are the foundation of mobile communications and what GSMA dubbed “the mobile economy.”
