PinPoint from GE –Transportation provides information well beyond the capabilities of traditional GPS technology, offering the opportunity to improve locomotive utilization and introduce greater operating efficiencies. The system monitors locomotive status, including moving/not-moving, engine on/off, run/isolate state and consist information. At the same time, it monitors and reports latitude, longitude and UTC; heading and velocity; geo-fence arrivals/departures, and nearest mileposts or operating stations as well as fueling levels and events.
